Learning with C.I.R.E

The Construction Insurance Risk Education (CIRE) Program's approach to learning about insurance strives to make it more understandable, yet connected to the actual policy language and to the real world construction problems involved. The recorded course material uses excerpts from real insurance policies to “get the hay down where the goats can eat it.” The multimedia teaching comes with supporting documents and resources for download and later reference. The primary focus is common understanding between the insurance and construction worlds on the most crucial issues.

CIRE is not intended as advanced insurance learning for insurance professionals, and it is no substitute for other certification programs. In fact, CIRE certificate holders are encouraged to continue learning with more traditional, in-depth insurance-specific programs. For those in the construction industry, the benefit of CIRE will be to avoid gaps in understanding insurance that may result in uncovered claims or unjustified high premiums. Agents who are CIRE certified will be eager to promote such education in their local construction communities. Common understanding among agents, builders, contractors, and developers (ABCD) creates a business environment where facts, learning and truth are the central part of any insurance dealings.
The vision of CIRE is to help agents, builders, contractors, and developers (ABCD) use similar language and have the same understanding when addressing insurance and matters of construction risk. Eliminating some of the confusion can benefit the economics of all concerned. While the concepts in this program are very applicable to commercial construction, this program is focused on residential construction concepts and issues.
